Our purpose is to build capacity by providing comprehensive services, specialising in sensory loss, positive behaviour support and children's therapies.

An opportunity has become available for a
HR/Payroll Officer to join our HR team.

Reporting directly to the Manager Human Resources, you will be primarily responsible for collating key payroll information to provide SensesWA's outsourced payroll provider, to ensure that the fortnightly payroll is processed accurately in an efficient and timely manner.

Although the payroll is outsourced, a large component of the role is typically end-to-end payroll and working in conjunction with the external outsourced payroll provider.


  • The HR/Payroll Officer investigates all payroll enquiries and provides information to the outsourced payroll provider to action in a timely manner.

An integral member of the HR Team, this is a part time position, 60.8 hrs per fortnight, with flexibility around working hours, outside the payroll processing cycle.


Snapshot of the Role:

  • First point of contact for payroll related employee enquiries and working in collaboration with external outsourced payroll provider to ensure effective delivery of the payroll services.
  • Provide the outsourced payroll provider with required employee information, including exported files from the Rostering System.
  • Liaise as necessary with external parties for the resolution of enquiries and employee requests.
  • Process all Parental Leave requests and monitor return to work bonuses in line with the Collective Agreement and manage Centrelink payments, including reconciliation of payments.
  • Preparation of the Workers Compensation Wage Reimbursements and reconcile payments from the Insurer.
  • Work collaboratively with the Recruitment Officer to ensure the onboarding of new employees is processed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Undertake regular payroll compliance audits.
  • Ensure record keeping in accurately maintained in line with legislative requirements.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Diploma in Payroll Administration/Services or similar qualification would be favourable.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Payroll Officer in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in CHRIS21 (preferred) or similar HRIS/Payroll platforms.
  • Demonstrated high accuracy of data entry.
  • Working knowledge of Awards and Award interpretation.
  • High standards of ethical and professional behaviour, integrity and capacity to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team yet selfmanage and meet deadlines.
