Boarding House Supervisor

The role

Boarding Supervisors are encouraged to develop a meaningful career path with the Head of Boarding within their first year in the role.

Career paths may be directed towards more senior positions with leadership responsibilities such as Boarding Co-ordinator as well as management positions such as Deputy Head and Head of Boarding.

Alternatively, Boarding Supervisors may wish to gain teaching qualifications and their experience in Boarding will develop strong skills in managing student wellbeing responsibilities inherent in any teaching position.

Boarding House Supervisor's share responsibility for the welfare of approximately 110 students from Years who come from country/regional Australia and overseas.

This position involves shift work, including weekends and some overnight stays on a rotating roster. Accommodation provided for overnight stays.

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Actively support the routine and protocols for the Boarding House
• Foster and provide a supportive community
• Be responsive and available to students and provide support where necessary.
• Liaise with teaching staff regarding specific students and their learning needs
• Liaise with the relevant Wellbeing teams in each School regarding specific students (as required)
• Responsible for ensuring the Boarding House is an environment where each Boarders' selfesteem and sense of worth are enhanced and where values of responsibility, respect, compassion and courage are fostered. Care for and supervise Boarders with compassion, consistency and fairness.
