About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for the nominated categories, in line with business needs and local government best practice procurement.
  • Provide advice and guidance on issues relating to all aspects of procurement category specialist and sourcing activities, including providing input to and planning of strategy, negotiation approaches, sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management to support procurement value for money outcomes.
  • Lead procurement activities including the development of relevant approachtomarket strategies and documentation that are fitforpurpose for best value procurement.
  • Lead and manage projects using robust, proactive, and contemporary project management methodology, controls, risk management and reporting in accordance with Council frameworks to ensure projects meet the approved scope and agreed expectations.

Qualifications

  • Business Degree or similar.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply Membership (desirable)

Experience

  • 5+ years demonstrated and extensive relevant experience in purchasing and procurement for a large and complex organisation. Local Government/Government preferrable.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement category specialist in ICT and Shared Services activities and achieving process improvement / cost reduction.
  • Contemporary experience in areas of tendering policy, procedures, and evaluation;
- contract administration, contract management, and negotiation.

You will have an engaging approach and technique to communicate effectively with stakeholders and display strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, including confidence in working with leaders to resolve high-priority, sensitive, and complex issues and conflicts.


What's on offer
We are offering an attractive salary package from $123,987 to $136,561 plus 10.5% superannuation.
