Client Client is a leading manufacturer of Vacuum Trucks, Water Trucks, Service Trucks, Waste Trucks, and Tilt Tray Trucks.

With significant growth in recent years, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team.

This role is based at their state-of-the-art facility in Dandenong, VIC.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Engineering Manager who is dedicated to achieving manufacturing excellence.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Expertise:
Utilize your extensive manufacturing experience to streamline assembly procedures, optimize Bill of Materials, and drive product improvement initiatives.

Technical Mastery:
Provide high-level technical guidance, ensuring engineering processes align with industry best practices and exceed quality standards.

Team Leadership:

Manage a small team of both local and offshore engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve project milestones and exceed customer expectations.


Lean Management:
Collaborate with production managers to implement lean management principles, maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste in manufacturing processes.

Global Collaboration:
Travel to China and the Philippines to engage with international teams, understand local dynamics, and facilitate seamless communication.

Hydraulics and Electrics Expertise:
Utilize your expertise in hydraulics and electrics to oversee the hydraulic and electrical

Engineers Project Management:

Drive projects from concept to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.


Technical Leadership:

Serve as a subject matter expert in mechanical engineering, providing technical guidance and support to engineers and stakeholders across the organization.


Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all mechanical systems and components meet or exceed industry standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and performance enhancements, driving innovation and efficiency in engineering processes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in Engineering
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager in a manufacturing environment, preferably Automotive
  • Strong background in mechanical hydraulics and electrics.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing teams and driving projects to successful completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of automotive engineering principles, including vehicle dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for automotive engineering.
  • Extensive experience using Solid Works and Auto CAD
  • Proficiency in assembly procedures, Bill of Materials, and detailed drawings.
  • Track record of successful product improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage local and offshore teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with lean management principles.
  • Willingness to travel to China and the Philippines.
