At Alcoa, you will become an essential part of our purpose: to turn raw potential into real progress.
The way we see it, every Alcoan is a work-shaper, team-shaper, idea-shaper, world-shaper.

About the role:
Do you ever wonder why things are the way they are? Do you have the initiative to identify patterns and translate those to business improvement strategies?

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mining Data Analyst to join our team supporting Alcoa's Bauxite Mines in Western Australia, Huntly and Willowdale.

This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, reporting into the Engineering and Capital Manager and offers the flexibility to work from the centralised WA Mining Hub in Pinjarra, up to two days from home as well as on site; both Huntly and Willowdale are within easy driving distance south of Perth.

In this role, your primary focus is to ensure that operational data is delivered in a way that provides insights into operational performance, enabling data-driven decisions.

Working directly with the technical services, information technology and operations teams you will be continuing to develop quality control and assurance practices of our production monitoring systems.

This will require diving into the fundamental philosophies of how the production monitoring systems record data and the standard practices the site use to ensure operator and machine compliance.

Your work will be key in contributing towards maximising mine production and minimising operating costs in a way that does not compromise the Alcoa's values in relation to Health, Safety and the Environment.

Monthly Leisure Day
Benefits allowance
Performance related bonus (variable)
16 weeks paid parental leave scheme
Social and diversity focused engagement opportunities

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Ability to understand functionality of business systems and present data for business reporting purposes.
A strong desire to expand and apply technical and operational knowledge in the continuous improvement of the operation.
Experience using Mine Fleet Management Systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Ability to deliver results to schedule and plan while having demonstrated a proactive commitment to a safe working environment.
A relevant degree qualification, such as Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) or Information Technology.
In addition to the skills listed above, it is also highly desirable if you have:
Experience using OSIsoft PI system and Arc GIS
Python or R, Power Query and PI Asset Framework experience

About the Location

Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa's Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries.

Bauxite ore from Alcoa's Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia's alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia's aluminium.
