The Opportunity:

  • The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Workforce Planning and Reporting Advisor within Corporate Operations Branch.
  • The Workforce Planning and Reporting section has primary responsibility for workforce strategy, planning, reporting and analytics. The section works in collaboration with business partners to codesign people focussed solutions to achieve organisational outcomes.
  • As a Workforce Planning and Reporting Advisor you will analyse data and information to contribute to the resolution of HR issues. You will use your analytical skills to inform workforce planning initiatives.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have an investigative mindset and problemsolving focus with the ability to analyse data, uncover trends, and tell a compelling datadriven story.

  • Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification.
The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • 1. Extract, interrogate, analyse and synthesise a range of simple to moderately complex human resources data, using workforce analytics tools to evaluate and report performance measures and workforce strategy initiatives.
  • 2. Gather and investigate information from a variety of sources; using experience and judgement to analyse what information is important and work within defined guidelines and timeframes.
  • 3. Actively contribute to workforce planning activities and the implementation of a range of HR projects.
  • 5. Review and implement best practice reporting and data quality methodologies to improve the quality and consistency of reporting in DPS.
  • 6. Engage, consult, and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers.
  • 7. Exercise good judgement and sensitivity in the Parliamentary Service environment when working with personal data and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
