Our client, a successful manufacturing FMCG company is seeking an experienced purchasing specialist to join their team to drive purchasing operations.

The Role:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Develop procurement schedules to meet demand while considering factors such as raw material availability, production workload, sales prediction.
  • Buying products, raw materials that are needed to maintain the smooth functioning of our operations at high quality and low cost. Be aware of the current market and have a strong analytical skills, comparing the prices of different vendors for identifying cost-effective deals.
  • Tracking the orders and ensuring timely deliveries, chasing up if there are any delays.
  • Inspecting stock level including the expired raws and reporting any faulty items, reordering supplies and stock as necessary.
  • Request credit notes from suppliers when needed and send to Accounts Payable for processing.
  • Monitor and analyse systems to ensure that the procurement process is working correctly, that it is in control and that appropriate regulatory controls are being met.
  • Optimise procurement processes to enhance efficiency and minimise waste. Identify areas for improvement and implement measures to streamline operations.
  • Oversee and help manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Coordinate with warehouse to maintain an efficient supply chain.
  • Address and resolve issues that arise during the procurement process, whether related to ETA of the shipment, quality concerns, or workforce challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, delivery notes, correspondence, quality control measures. Generate reports for management as needed.
  • Assist when required in reacting to and actioning pre-operational checks prior to commencement production.

Your Background

  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG.
  • Proficient in using ERP systems.
  • 5-8 years of experience in purchasing/procurement.
  • Previous analytics experience within purchasing operations
  • End to end procurement experience: source, tender, negotiate, contract, and supplier management.
  • Local and overseas supplier experience.
