About the organisation

About the role

In this newly created role, the Aboriginal Communities Engagement Manager in the Faculty of Engineering will co-ordinate and manage Indigenous community related programs and initiatives for the Faculty.

The appointee will be a critical liaison point between Aboriginal communities and the Faculty, the University, and internal and external client groups.

This includes working closely with the William Cooper Institute, the University's hub for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research, learning and engagement, which promotes Indigenous leadership and advancement across the University.


About you

With a strong Indigenous identity and proven connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, you have deep knowledge of relevant community protocols.

Your experience includes a proven record of successfully working with Indigenous communities to progress their cultural, entrepreneurial and economic aspirations.

Adept at working effectively within and advancing an organisation's First Nations' cross-cultural education and awareness programs, you possess excellent project management and prioritisation skills in coordinating impactful programs or services.

Your abilities in providing specialist policy advice and building consensus at senior levels in a multi-layered environment are underpinned by your highly developed and nuanced interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing capabilities.
