Peninsula Health Family Violence Service - Orange Door Program has the opportunity for a person/persons whom are wanting to explore the family violence sector to come work with us.

The Orange Door is a free service for adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care, wellbeing and development of children.

It is an Australian-first model that brings together workers from specialist family violence, child and family, Aboriginal and men's services to provide an integrated response.

The Orange Door provides initial services to those in need including risk and needs assessment, safety planning, and crisis supports, as well as connecting people to a broad range of services for ongoing support.

The Orange Door works with diverse communities across Victoria and welcomes practitioners of any age, culture, ethnicity, religion, ability, gender, sexuality or other background.

What You Will Be Doing


The Safety and Support Hub Practitioner - Mens is a valued member of the Family Violence Program and works within the State-funded Integrated Response to Family Violence along with other funded agencies in a collaborative and integrated way.

The Practitioner responds to the identified need to enhance safety of women and children in our community by working with men who perpetrate family violence.

This position will be based within the Men's team at the Bayside Peninsula Support and Safety Hub/Access Point, based in Hastings or Frankston

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Social Work/Psychology/Social Science or related fields
  • Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209)
  • Case Management experience and skills i.e. demonstrated experience in psychosocial assessment with diverse clients.
  • Well developed skills in working with complex clients including defusing, selfmanagement and reflective practice.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively in all professional relationships
  • Demonstrated well developed organisational and administrative skills, including ability to effectively manage time and competing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and evidencebased practice
  • Demonstrated flexibility and capability to work effectively in a changing environment
  • Current Victorian drivers licence, Working with Children Check and a satisfactory police check.
  • Computer skills excellent working knowledge of MS Windows, Excel, Outlook and the Internet
