Ten Recruitment are partnered with an agricultural manufacturing business based in Darwin.

The business are in an exciting growth phase and are looking for an Operations Manager to support the current General Manager.


The Role:
To be an integral part of the Forestry leadership team. As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for implementing operational strategies and planning activities.

The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operational activity in WA, NT and QLD regions to ensure efficiency, quality, services and cost-effective management of resources.


General Operations:

  • Assist the General Manager as required
  • Provide leadership in the development and growth of the department
  • Streamline operational activity including plantations, irrigation and maintenance to achieve efficiency and quality targets
  • Standardise the operations across WA, QLD & NT

Operational Planning:

  • In conjunction with Regional Managers and Plantation Managers effectively plan, direct and coordinate plantations managers, ensure plantation operations are implemented in accordance with operational plans, company policies, procedures and standards
  • In conjunction with Regional Managers and Plantations Managers plan, direct and supervise logístical activities to ensure that plantation operations are carried out effectively
  • Assess plantation plant and equipment requirements and make recommendations for future purchases

Operational Expenditure:

  • Assist in implementing the annual operating budget with the GM, develop and implement the annual operational CAPEX budget
  • Manage the operational budget

Direct Reports:

  • Act as the liaison between the GM of Forestry and the WA, NT and QLD regions
  • Ensure effective management of direct reports by defining clear responsibilities and monitoring performance, coaching where required

Qualifications/Skill set:

  • 5yrs Operational Management Experience (Essential)
  • Qualification in Agriculture or Horticulture (Desirable)
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency
