UGL's utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors.

Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.


Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia.

Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures.

Our work spans from the engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.

The Opportunity


Our UGL Utilities division is currently seeking expressions of interest from Environmental Coordinators for our water division based in Collins Street, Melbourne.


Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Establish and maintain Environmental Management Plans (EMP), associated procedures and records on environmental management to meet the client's requirements and ISO 1400
  • Provide environmental training and inductions on relevant environmental issues to UGL staff and sub-contractors and maintain records of such training
  • Coordinate weed inspections and washdowns of UGL and subcontractor plant and equipment as required by the client and legislation
  • Ensure that sediment and erosion control measures are installed and maintained to minimise the risk of environmental harm from UGL's construction activities
  • Review subcontractors Environmental Management Plans, procedures, records and activities

About you

  • Database, Word Processing and Spreadsheet skills
  • 58 Years relevant construction or similar Environmental Management experience
  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental
  • Proactively seek to continuously improve performance, deliverables and work efficiencies
