THE ROLE


MQ Health Cardiology Clinic is seeking a qualified Cardiac Physiologist (Echo) to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative clinic environment.


You will work as part of a team to ensure a patient-centred focus and work with fellow clinicians and support services teams to provide high-quality patient experience and expert Echocardiography services.

The role requires a proficient communication skills and a strong commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Provision of high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred Echocardiography services as referred to by MQ Health Specialist Clinicians and/or other Specialist Clinicians operating as part of MUH, or as directed by the Manager, Cardiac Physiologist.
  • Expert interpretation of ECGs and non-invasive cardiac testing such as stress testing, holter monitoring.
  • Performing transthoracic echocardiography independently (including provisional reports).
  • Performing stress echocardiography
  • Promptly advising the Specialist Clinician or senior medical staff of any patient findings that require immediate clinical attention.
  • Facilitating positive working relationships within staff at MQ Health Clinics and Macquarie University Hospital and promote the ethos of collaboration in clinical practice, teaching and research.
  • Actively contributing to professional development activities offered to MQ Health Cardiology staff.

About You:
You will be an experienced Cardiac Physiologist with a Bachelors of Science/Applied Science and postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac Sonography.

We are looking for a new graduate or sonographers with 1-2 years work experience that is enthusiastic about developing their skills within a large team.

Great communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients will allow you flourish in this role.

You possess good time management skills and compliant to set work routines and procedures, amenable to work within an integrated healthcare team.

MQHealth Cardiology is a fully equipped facility which conducts both invasive and non-invasive cardiac testing.

As a part of the MQHealth Cardiac Physiologist team, you will be involved in our multi-disciplinary Pulmonary Hypertension clinics and Structural Heart clinics (TAVI and Mitraclip).

You will work to support the inpatients at Macquarie University Hospital and will be exposed to a wide variety of pathology.
