What you'll be doing


The Assistant in Nursing is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The Assistant in Nursing will support and provide quality care for patients/clients.


All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria:

  • Holds certificate CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) OR another qualification deemed appropriate.
  • A minimum of twelve months clinical experience working in an acute or aged care facility.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, including both the ability to communicate with a range of people and document correctly within in the health care record.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use information technology systems.
