About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated team member to join us in the position of
Product Designer in
Rowville, VIC.
You will provide design, drafting and documentation expertise in the constant development and innovation of the Moddex's products/systems.
You will manage designs and product modifications from concept through to successful product release, including all supporting processes, specifications, documentation, and QA.
As a key member of the Existing Product Design (EPD) team, your primary responsibilities will include:
Project Execution: Ensure EPD project designs progress from concept through to successful product release.
Design Execution: Generate concept ideas, drawings and 3D models. Liaise with suppliers/toolmakers on design and tooling to achieve quality outcomes. Collaborate with Supply Chain for product naming and coding.

Product Development QC: Collaborate on QC checks with a focus on the design, aesthetics, function of products. Seek feedback from Moddex team and preferred installers on pilot batch. Analyse feedback and compile recommendations.

Testing and Reporting: Undertake relevant external product and system testing with technical experts and testing houses as required. Assist with internal product or system testing including access to procedures, recording device set-up, recording of results and reporting.
About You:
You will thrive in this role if you have a positive attitude to work and love learning
You possess:
- A minimum 5 years' experience working as a product designer / in product design field; a background in manufacturing, toolmaking, prototyping, FEA, QC/QA would be highly valued.
- Experienced in some or all the following structural analysis programs desirable: 3D CAD
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar, with the ability to mentor other team members on some or all of these software packages;
- Highly proficient in 2D drafting; technical drafting experience or cast product detailing is highly valued; steel, aluminum and timber detailing considered beneficial;
- Higher education degree/s in a technical design field; Industrial design / Product design considered advantageous.
- Indepth knowledge of standards for handrails, barriers and balustrading.
- Selfmotivated and able to lead and work in a team
- See solutions from challenges, and navigate uncertainty;
- An agile approach to prioritising project commitments and delivery;
- Effective communication skills
