As we expand our services, we are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Team Leader to join our dedicated team.

We're offering an exciting opportunity to join us as a Disability Support Worker in our Accommodation Services. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in providing support to our clients with high needs in the disability community, aiding them with personal care and daily tasks.

The Role:

As a Disability Support Worker, you'll be instrumental in assisting clients with high support needs, which may include individuals who use wheelchairs and other aids. You'll also provide additional support for their medical and care needs, requiring experience or training in using mobility aids and a thorough understanding of Manual Handling. Residents receive support from our experienced and qualified staff throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, overnight, and weekends. Our focus is on empowering each individual to live as autonomously as possible within both shared living and one-on-one environments.

About You:

In this role, we're seeking individuals who excel in communication, building positive relationships with clients to meet their diverse needs effectively. Resilience and self-confidence are key attributes, as you'll be engaging with clients from various backgrounds and circumstances. Prioritising and problem-solving skills are essential for navigating the demands of the role. Flexibility is a must, with the willingness to work shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Outlook, is required. Additionally, possessing a valid Australian Driver's License and obtaining necessary clearances, such as a Blue Card and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check, are vital. Candidates should be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check and disclose their Covid-19 vaccination status, including boosters.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with high needs Disability clients
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated understanding in the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes.
  • Mental Health First Aid
