Are you ready for a change and work at a renowned University with excellent facilities and staff benefits? We are looking for a Plumbing Technician who will provide comprehensive technical support to maintain and enhance the University's physical environment. This includes preventative, breakdown, and emergency maintenance.

In this role, you'll provide coordinated and comprehensive client service whereby client requests for maintenance work are responded to positively and in a timely manner. As a Technician, you'll supervise and monitor maintenance work carried out by external contractors to ensure satisfactory service and compliance with University policy and procedures and statutory regulations and regulations.

In this role, you will, but are not limited to:
Repair, test and commission equipment/systems, as appropriate. Provide clients with details such as estimated timeframes for work which needs to be carried out and advise of potential safety issues and disruptions to the area, keeping the client informed of delays and any other problems that arise in the course of the work being carried out. Liaise with other trades to avoid any conflict of interest in the delivery of services and to ensure optimum efficiencies to ensure a coordinated approach to jobs. Provide accurate and up-to-date written reports and records pertaining to work carried out and materials used and update relevant maintenance management databases. Supervise and monitor maintenance work carried out by external contractors to ensure a satisfactory service is provided and to ensure compliance with University policy and procedures and statutory regulations and statutory regulations. Assess and make recommendations on the suitability and functionality of equipment and systems. Selection Criteria
Completion of a Certificate III (or Advanced/Post trade Certificate or equivalent) with extensive relevant experience. Possess a current Class G (or equivalent) Gas license and current backflow prevention certificate. Demonstrated analytical and diagnostic skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to organise workloads and priorities to meet deadlines and work objectives. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as effectively with others in a team. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to interpret hardware manuals, service manuals, and technical and construction drawings. About us
