The primary function of this position is to form part of the Cut Edge and Fit operation, charged with providing high quality finished eyewear to ZEISS's customers.

Whilst primarily focused on Cut Edge and Fit operations there will be a requirement to act as a back-up for all other aspects of the Rx Lab operations as required

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

Associated duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for cutting and fitting of Ophthalmic lenses to all styles of spectacle frames
  • Monitor equipment and processes completing agreed maintenance programs as requested.
  • Responsible for carrying out equipment calibrations in accordance with quality requirements
  • Contribute to the training and development of staff.
  • Work in partnership with Lab Manager and team members to meet company targets and address any customer issue.
  • Involvement in continuous improvement activities as required
  • Making precision optical parts
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A qualified Optical Mechanic / Technician or Optical Dispenser is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience within an Optical Laboratory Fitting environment including rimless fitting and tinting
  • High attention to detail
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, proactive and prepared to lead by example.
  • Demonstrated self direction and motivation
  • Ability to maintain high standards of quality Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adhere to standard operations including all WHS&IM policies and procedures
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Able to adapt to change
  • Able to communicate across various teams within the organization
  • Be proactive with a willingness to learn, with a positive outlook
  • Compliance with applicable or relevant legislation and Carl Zeiss Code of Conduct
  • Responsible for providing a consistent quality product which can be delivered to the customer within time frames, meeting all quality standards
  • Process driven individual who is highly organised and has the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise, work under pressure and be flexible
