About Resources Safety and Health Queensland Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is the guardian of workplace safety and health across Queensland's critical mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas, and explosives industries.
Not only does RSHQ ensure that industry is responsible for maintaining the protection of workers, but it also safeguards the very communities that are impacted by these vital operations.
RSHQ's mandate extends far beyond regulation.With a vision of "zero serious harm", they are the custodians of best practice risk regulation to ensure that the focus is on the areas that most impact people's lives.
Areas of concentration include performance and compliance reporting which requires a level of executive influence to enable real change.Enduring political, cultural and technological change, the organisation is purpose-led and acknowledges the ongoing journey of managing risk within the industries overseen by RSHQ.
RSHQ is an organisation that supports an industry that is central to Queensland's economic and social success and aims to drive towards the goal of "zero serious harm"About the Role and You Are you ready to lead a transformative journey in workplace safety and health? As CEO of Resources Safety & Health Queensland, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective administration and operation of the organisation, guiding towards excellence in safeguarding the wellbeing of workers across Queensland's dynamic resources industries.
With a focus on advising the Minister, managing vertical, organisational units, and administering key legislation, your visionary leadership will drive cultural change and foster collaboration between RSHQ, government, industry and communities.
Key to your success will be building and maintaining crucial relationships, both internally with the Minister's office and RSHQ Board and externally with industry stakeholders and government agencies.
Your decision-making skills, reporting directly to the Minister, and oversight of a significant operating budget and team of over 400 staff will be instrumental in shaping the future of workplace safety in Queensland.
We are seeking interest from seasoned professionals with a deep understanding of safety and health risk management, regulatory frameworks, and a track record of leadership in the resources sector.
