About the team:

The Audio-Visual team play a key role in enabling the digital delivery of the Department's communication and digital strategies.

Our team connects across the department as part of the Internal Communication and Creative Services section within the Communications Branch.

We collaborate closely with design and branding teams to produce cohesive departmental content, ensuring a unified and visually appealing representation of our key priorities within the Industry, Science and Resources sector.


Our team is a diverse and talented group of individuals who bring a wide range of video production skills and expertise to the department.

  • Experience in delivering a wide range of digital content.
  • Experience in digital content creation, pre to post productions and live events.
  • Experience in operating video and lighting equipment.
  • Experience in prioritising workloads
  • Developed troubleshooting skills in a live production environment.
  • Developed people skills, bringing a positive and collaborative approach to both client and team interactions.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Awareness of government accessibility standards
  • 3+ years' experience in the video production and have a bachelor's degree or equivalent technical credentials in the media industry.
  • Operating digital video, photography and lighting equipment.
  • Video editing programs such as Premier Pro, After Effects and the Adobe suite to design graphics and other software for animation development
  • Provide support and guidance on audio visual processes, procedures, tools and techniques to staff across the department.
  • Respond positively in a high paced environment and manage priorities to meet tight timeframes.
  • Working independently, exercising sound judgment in decision making and task execution

What you will do:

As the APS4 Video Producer, you will:

  • work collaboratively as part of the Audio-Visual team to deliver audience-focused rich content (including video, stills and audio) and support live production and video conferencing.
- look for innovative ways to develop digital production; to this end, a working knowledge of drone technologies and other interactive technologies is advantageous.
- work closely with staff and stakeholders to produce quality content which aligns with the department's strategic initiatives.
- provide support to the Production Manager and teams throughout the Department by providing advice, information and demonstrations to support digital literacy.
- contribute positively to the team's culture, guiding and mentoring junior staff and supporting the Production Manager in building team capability and setting team members up for success.


Working consistently with the expectations for an APS4 in the APS Work Level Standards, the AV Producer is responsible for the effective management of Department's digital assets and infrastructure.

This includes AV networking systems, specialised camera technologies, video conferencing and streaming technologies, post-production infrastructure maintenance and digital media distribution outputs.


Eligibility:


The successful applicant will hold or obtain a current registration issued under the Working With Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 and maintain this registration for the duration of employment.
