About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist for an immediate start with one of our government clients. The main obejctive of this role is to work collaboratively to provide consistent, efficient and effective operational and project support to enable optimum service delivery to the community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing the entirety of procurement processes and contracts for various council initiatives and initiatives.
  2. Offering expert guidance on tender evaluation strategies and overseeing high-risk and intricate procurement processes.
  3. Cultivating and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  4. Conducting training sessions to ensure adherence to contract, tender, and procurement policies, protocols, and systems.
  5. Enhancing and refining existing systems and protocols to uphold best practices.
  6. Crafting and delivering reports to management to facilitate informed decision-making.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in procurement, contract management, commercial finance, legal, or related fields.
  2. Preferably, experience in local councils, governmental bodies, public sector statutory authorities, corporations, utilities, or similar sectors.
  3. Demonstrated prowess in managing stakeholders and fostering engagement, coupled with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  5. A willingness and capacity to mentor others.
