The role of the Finance Business Partner - Projects is to provide insight and transparency into the Bank's Investment spend slate, both costs and benefits.

This includes management of direct expenses, capitalisation, depreciation, funding and FTEs.

What you'll do

  • Provide clear and consistent reporting, and insightful analysis, of the ongoing performance of the Bank's Projects expenses and FTE
  • Support the development of the bank rolling forecast and budget in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Understand, explain and constructively challenge monthly and forecast expenses, including Bank Project Direct costs and FTE
  • Ensure clear and transparent communication of Financial performance to key stakeholders, including Group Finance, Project Management, Tribe Leads, and Project Leadership
  • Ensure that accuracy of relevant Financial data is maintained at all times, making appropriate adjustments to ensure systems are complete and accurate (e.g. monthend accruals journals)
  • Ensure that Bank Project results are accurately assigned to individual projects, and that the segregation of costs between D&T and BAU are accurately maintained
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the Bank, ensuring Finance are actively engaged in the business decision making process


 Support the Manager
  • Expenses & Reporting, the Executive Manager
  • Bank Performance Management, the Bank CFO, and Suncorp Bank Leadership Team (SBLT) by delivering innovation and redesign of reporting, productivity reports and dashboards

What you'll bring

  • Experience in a similar Business Partner role and demonstrable skill in successfully managing multiple stakeholders
  • Prior experience supporting Project delivery teams to understand and manage their cost base and benefits
  • Experience in management and reporting of expenses and/or FTE, along with appropriate exposure to expense drivers, within a large commercial company
  • Qualification in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance related field (degree, diploma, or certificate)
  • Post Graduate qualification in Accounting such as CPA, ICA (desired)
  • Financial Services experience (desired)
