The Role
ESL Australia is looking for a passionate esports Community Manager to join our expanding marketing team.

As our community manager, you'll act as our local community ambassador for the ANZ market and be responsible for building and maintaining our communities across multiple games, leagues, and events.


You'll sit at the core of most of what we do and act as a bridge between the departments in the business as you champion your communities and what's best for them.


It's a mid level role, so you will have freedom to pitch your own strategies about how you'd like to engage and most importantly grow your communities.

You'll be responsible for executing your plans across all channels, and all places where our communities congregate.


If you know esports, you likely know you need to be comfortable working in a start-up style role, where we have fun, get our hands dirty, and make the most of limited resources.

Similarly you'll need to be comfortable outside of your comfort zone, and be willing to make mistakes and learn by doing.


This role suits someone that's outgoing, is a good communicator and bonus points if you're well connected within the Oceanic gaming community.

If you're a creative self-starter, with big ideas and even bigger drive to make them happen, then you're perfect for this role.


You will be:

  • Creating and executing community management & growth plans.
  • Creating content, engaging in community discussion & driving community engagement.
  • Creating and managing community focused campaigns and tournaments.
  • Managing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with product owners.
  • Managing your communities and stakeholders at live events.
  • Work with crossfunctional and crossborder regional teams to execute worldclass programs in the ANZ region.

Requirements:

What we're looking for:

  • At least 3 years of community management experience, preferably in gaming.
  • Proven ability to grow communities.
  • Passionate about gaming and esports.
  • Have a creative eye & enthusiastic about content creation.
  • Are well connected within the Oceanic gaming community.
  • Actively engaged with gaming/esports social media in ANZ.
  • Positive; adaptable; hardworking; and willing to go the extra mile when needed.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and strives to fulfill deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams, in a diverse and fastpaced environment.
  • Experience in creating graphics using beginnerfriendly photo editing software like Canva, otherwise good to have intermediate to advanced level experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and the likes experience in design/creative work is a strong plus point.
