About the Team


Credit Risk Management effectively manages the Bank's credits risks through appropriate risk management practices and independent and objective assessment of judgmental credits.

About the Role


The purpose of the Team Leader Consumer & Micro Business Credit Management is to ensure that the team delivers assessment and analysis of judgmental credit transactions is undertaken in a manner consistent with Bendigo Bank's credit risk policy framework and that the resultant credit decision is prudentially sound, balancing sound and profitable growth against acceptable risk.

In addition, the role is to maintain effective working relationships with lending units without compromising the positions independence and objectivity through:
Effective workflow management of the team
Initiate training and development for staff to ensure knowledge is up to date to deliver to customers
Proactively foster the workshopping of transactions with Consumer Banking lending staff.
Proactive management of relationships with internal customers.
Support the development, implementation and maintenance of judgmental credit policy for Bendigo Bank.

Capabilities, skills and experience

Demonstrated team leadership in current or previous positions
Track record of relevant team development, leadership and management
Extensive experience in credit risk management roles within the banking industry, ideally within consumer and micro business positions
Sound knowledge of the Group's lending procedures and systems, preferably experience with the Bank's lending platform(s)
Thorough understanding of industry best practice credit risk measurement techniques.
Strong cost and commerciality ethic
Ability to build internal and external relationships and establish self as a trusted adviser.
Sound time management abilities to support meeting of deadlines
