ABOUT THE ROLE AND COMPANY

The Property Transactions team at Cumberland City Council is responsible for providing professional and expert support in the management and delivery of property advice regarding the Council's property portfolio, including leasing, licensing, acquisition, and disposal of property.

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity within the team for a skilled and experienced individual to join us in this role. Reporting to the Coordinator of Property Transactions, this position involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders on all property transactions.

The successful candidate will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in property economics or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in property management, lease administration, and transactions, with expertise in commercial, retail, and residential properties
  • Experience in coordinating property transactions in a local government setting (desirable)
  • Strong negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in overall portfolio management, including stakeholder management, tenant liaison, leasing queries, critical dates, and debt management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation and reviewing documentation such as commercial leases, licenses, and easements
  • Class C driver's license

ROLE DETAILS:

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 70-hour fortnight
  • Access to Council's 9-day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement
  • Location: Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites

SALARY INFORMATION: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,656.10 to $1,904.51 per week, plus 11% superannuation
  • Commencing salary negotiable based on qualifications, skills, and experience
  • Mobile phone provided
