ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


The Venue Officer will be the main support to the Coordinator at our Centres, including the Holroyd and Granville Centre, providing all day-to-day venue upkeep, waiter/waitressing service at events, room set up and customer service duties.

Council will be offering multiple casual positions in this exciting opportunity allowing you to gain experience across a large number of areas including room set ups, pack downs, hospitality and bar experience, bookings and minor clerical and financial transactions.


The successful applicants will require:

  • Responsible service of alcohol (RSA) certificate (for staff serving alcohol)
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Ability to carry three plates at meal service
  • Food handlers' certificate (for staff working in kitchen)
  • Basic Computer Literacy.

Position information:
These are casual positions, working on a roster between Monday to Sunday. Hours are generally rostered within business hours however will require occasional night shifts and weekend work.


This role is predominantly located at Council's Centre's including Holroyd and Granville Centre and Eric Tweedale Stadium, with occasional travel required across Council's work locations.


Salary information:
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 2 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with an hourly rate range between $26.41 and $30.37 per hour, plus 25% casual loading, weekend penalties and 10.5% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
