  • Provide high level leadership and support to managers and staff. Maintain key data and ensure the efficient operation of the Health Information Unit.

The Monitoring, Reporting and Analysis - Health Information Team is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and disseminating information on the health of Tasmanians and their use of health services.


The Unit develops information standards with the Tasmanian Department of Health business units (including the Tasmanian Health Service) and plays a key role in ensuring data quality in major agency collections.


Your Role:

  • Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of performance data and systems for the Department, aligned to national initiatives, for development and management of standards for performance data to meet its reporting needs.
  • Provide high level consultative advice and support to managers and staff on the use and adoption of performance data by other units and its effective incorporation into normal work practices.
  • Manage and maintain key activity and demographic data including the provision of analysis of associated impacts on demand on, and service provision by, the Department.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Health Information Unit and its contribution to the objectives of the business unit and the Department.
