The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Extracting and inputting of data into a computer based operating system.
  • Installation, testing and commissioning of fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure.
  • Installation of enterprise IT and computer equipment, including server cabinets & racks, servers, networking equipment, routers, switches, cable management.
  • Installation and looming of patch cabling for switches, servers, storage arrays and other ICT equipment.
  • Decommissioning of ICT equipment, provisioning and cross-connects.
  • Installation of cable containment including cable baskets/trays, ducting & fibre duct.
  • Actively contributing your technical experience within a team of professional, skilled, installation technicians
  • Liaising with Company clients
  • Contributing to the maintenance of a safe working environment
  • Mentor and train apprentices.

What you will need to have as a minimum:

  • Have experience working in Data Centres/ Telecommunications industry, small scale projects and fitouts and have fibre optic experience.
  • Hold a current Cabling Licence with endorsements of Structured and Fibre Optics.
  • Can work as part of a team or independently.
  • Are proactive and have problem solving attributes.
  • Are willing to be part of an on-call roster.
  • Have excellent safety awareness and meticulous attention to detail, to maintain a high standard of workmanship.

Due to the nature of the work, you must be eligible to obtain baseline/NV1 security clearance.
