About the role


Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for a
Technical Writer to join them in a full-time maximum-term role for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

This role is based from Mater's South Brisbane Campus.


The Technical Writer will be responsible for reviewing curriculum offerings with RTO Subject Matter Experts (SME), sourcing and creating learning content for digital learning resources in accordance with the direction of key stakeholders.

They will take a lead role in developing targeted and relevant learning content and activities, as well as developing materials as required for each project.


The role will work collaboratively with Program Owners, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Educators, and Facilitators to produce resources that are based on contemporary best practice education and instructional design principles, engaging, effective, interactive, of high quality and learner centred.


Salary:
Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900


What you'll be doing

  • Review, plan, design, develop, deliver and maintain elearning content in accordance with Mater branding, design elements and templates and highquality user experience principles
  • Continuously improve elearning programs and materials using review processes and guidelines in collaboration with SME's
  • Understand and use creative and contemporary media to support learning effectively
  • Plan, develop and maintain regular and ad hoc reports related to elearning
  • Review and author course content, quizzes, assessments, and write video/audio scripts, instructions and dialogues for usage within LMS
  • Assist with audio, video and image editing tools for the creation of best practice learning content
  • Lead the communication with delivery team for planning, development and maintenance of elearning support material including module templates, authoring guidelines and review processes
  • Liaise with and provide specialist advice to users, content authors, business owners and other relevant key stakeholders
  • Extract key messages from SMEs and propose, design and develop valid and robust assessment to the highest quality standards
  • Support content authors in developing material suitable for the elearning environment and suitable to the needs of educators and students

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in eLearning, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Education, or equivalent experience is desirable
  • Experience writing with vocational education framework essential
years+ experience creating learning materials for audiences across a range of organisational and complexity levels

  • Strong analytical and creative skills, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Strong writing, proofreading, editing and formatting skills
  • Exemplary attention to detail and ability to produce errorfree work
  • A flexible approach and willingness to use Mater templates and preferred learning methodologies
  • Ability to create materials to specification and within required development to delivery time ratios
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, resilience and willingness to work with a diverse range of SMEs and curriculum developers
