Redlands Senior Campus located in
Victoria Point, QLD.



ABOUT THE ROLE


The role of a
Youth Worker (Classroom) is to support teachers in the delivery of academic and wellbeing programs to students.


Key responsibilities of the role includes:

  • Coordinating the delivery of the school's pastoral care and community development program so that student wellbeing needs and attendance targets are met
  • Planning and leading wellbeing programs for students
  • Supporting the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students
  • Assisting in delivery of associated programs, services and events offered to young people through the operation of the campus
  • Forming intentional relationships with young people so that their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs can be supported appropriately through the operation of the school
  • Supporting case management of identified students in line with school policies and practice

SELECTION CRITERIA


The ideal applicant will be looking for a challenge, have a passion for working with young people, a strong interest in the development of the holistic person, a personal interest in health, spirituality and personal well-being.

They will also have a commitment to a client-centred approach, creative and innovative youth work practice and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate III or above in Youth Work, Community Services or other relevant qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people including the ability to communicate appropriately with young people and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability and commitment to working with young people using the _Strengths Approach_ and ability to demonstrate nonjudgmental, empathic framework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and prior experience using a range of MS Office software
  • Hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
