Salary: $110,000 plus 11% superannuation

Position: Full Time, Permanent

Our client Decorug Holdings Pty Ltd. is a leading retailer of home décor products, including rugs, flooring, and furniture. The primary purpose of the Retail Buyer position is to manage the procurement of products that meet the company's quality standards and consumer preferences.

The role involves identifying market trends, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring the availability of high-demand products to maximize sales and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, a deep understanding of market trends, and the ability to source and select products that align with Decorug brand and customer preferences.

Requirements:

· Certificate IV in Retail or related studies

· At least 2 years retail buying experience

In this role your main responsibilities include:

· Identify and select products for retail, ensuring they meet the company's quality and consumer preference standards.

· Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

· Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers and seek new suppliers as needed.

· Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products. Use this information to make informed buying decisions.

· Manage budgets for product procurement and ensure purchases stay within the allocated budget.

· Ensure that all purchased products meet the company's quality standards and are delivered on time.

· Analyze sales data to determine the success of product lines and make adjustments to buying strategies accordingly.

· Prepare reports on product performance, inventory levels, and market trends for management review.

· Understand supplier base capability and constantly identify opportunities, which will deliver long term competitive advantage for the business

· Plan, develop and execute category level promotional activity

· Monitor inventory and liaise with suppliers

· Manage all administrative tasks such as purchase orders, stock control, and logistic documents

· Receiving and acting on customer feedback to adjust buying patterns

· Anticipate changes in customer demand for particular goods

You will need to possess the following skills and personal attributes:

· Proven experience as a Retail Buyer or in a similar purchasing role, preferably in the home décor industry.

· Strong knowledge of home décor products, market trends, and consumer preferences.

· Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret sales data and market research.

· Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software
