We are seeking a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Arborist within the Urban Landscapes section to deliver positive outcomes for the city through the delivery of a range of Urban Forest services and programs.

About the role:

The Operations team is responsible for the construction, maintenance and care of Councils assets involving maintenance of public and private trees, sporting fields, parks and reserves, roads, drainage, footpaths, signs and waste collection.

This is a unique opportunity to improve the quality and quantity of the city's urban forest and to maximise the benefits they provide the community, this position is a non-climbing role providing direction, leadership and accountability to the Urban Landscapes team by:

• Actively engage with the team to promote arboricultural best practice including but not limited to formative pruning, plant selection, tree planting and public tree management.
• Demonstrating knowledge and experience in arboriculture maintenance, to inspire your team to deliver exceptional customer expectations.
• Confidently liaise with residents, community members and other internal staff in delivering high quality, sustainable, and engaging open spaces.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arboriculture (or working towards).
• Knowledge of and experience in utilising a range of Arboricultural plant and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret arboriculture reports and develop and/or implement remediation strategies
• Extensive knowledge in relation to Arboriculture maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of pest and disease management in relation to trees within an urban environment
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Extensive field experience working within the arboriculture industry.
