The opportunity

A great opportunity to progress community health and aged care research with Silverchain in partnership with Curtin University. You will be developing programs of research and leading research projects prioritised under Silverchain Group's Future Care Strategy. Driving research translation and disseminating research outcomes across the organisation and externally. This role's focus is on complex nursing, including wound care.

Key responsibilities

The major accountabilities of this position are below, see position Description for more details:

  • Identify, develop and coordinate strategically aligned programs of research.
  • Design and manage research projects and activities
  • Lead the development of grant applications.
  • Provide expertise to research, evaluation and innovation projects
  • Engage with organisational stakeholders
  • Contribute to research governance activities at Silverchain.
  • Design and conduct analysis of complex data
  • Build partnerships
  • Supervise post graduate students
  • Teach into and support Curtin University wounds courses

About you

Specific qualification requirements that are necessary for the role:

  • PhD or equivalent doctoral-level qualification in a health, public health or social science discipline.
  • Minimum of six years' experience working as a senior researcher in a similar role in a health-related setting.
  • Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Demonstrated success in applying for grants from research funding schemes.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Experience in the development and coordination of health research projects as lead investigator
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative data interpretation and analysis, including routinely collected datasets, using statistical packages such as STATA or SPSS.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and strategic thinking.
  • The ability to work autonomously and in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing reports and documents for diverse audiences
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).

Qualifications and/or experience that are highly desirable for the role:

  • Experience in complex nursing and wound care both clinically and academically.
  • Experience in working in both an academic environment and for a health service.
  • Experience supervising post graduate students to completion.
  • Current registration as a nurse with NMBA.

Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
