What you will doAs the Deputy Registrar of the Queensland Racing Appeals Panel (the Panel), you will manage the administrative operation of the Panel.

You will ideally have the ability to quickly acquire knowledge in the delivery of justice services, including procedural fairness and natural justice.

What you will bring

  • Implement and manage the daytoday operations of a complex, standalone appeals management function with responsibility to ensure efficient, effective and quality service delivery
  • Support the panel in hearings with registry services including transcription services, admission of evidence, swearing in of witnesses and coordinating virtual attendance
  • Contribute and prepare reports, information and recommendations to support the registrar and enable the chairperson, deputy chairperson and panel members to perform their statutory roles in accordance with the legislation
  • Provide advice to the registrar and the chairperson on business improvement opportunities for the practice, procedures and operation of the Racing Appeals Panel, and execute agreed changes
  • Perform other duties required to meet demand as requested by the registrar
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining a high performing team to deliver required work of the Panel within timeframes, budget and quality standards
  • Engage with a wide variety of stakeholders including industry bodies and representatives, government, applicants, witnesses, and members of the community as part of managing day to day operations of the Panel. Represent the Racing Appeals Panel at forums, workshops and meetings as required.

You may also haveAbility to quickly acquire knowledge in the delivery of justice system services and review processes including natural justice and procedural fairness to ensure compatibility with human rights.
