About the Role The Executive Director People and Culture is a key member of the Monash Health Executive Leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

This role has executive accountability for the leadership of the People and Culture function for the 25,500 FTE workforce, ensuring the development and implementation of strategies and services that support the organisation's strategic directions, align with its values, and build a culture where people pursue excellence and deliver exceptional care and outstanding outcomes to patients.

Key responsibilities include providing high-level, accurate, and timely advice and support to the Chief Executive and Executive and Program leaders across the Health Service.

The role involves developing and implementing a People and Culture strategy that supports Monash Health's strategic plan and organisational priorities, overseeing Health and Safety, Work Cover, and Return to Work strategies, and establishing a comprehensive talent management strategy.

The Executive Director will lead major change management initiatives, collaborate closely with Executive peers and key stakeholders, and develop leadership enhancement initiatives at all levels of the organisation.

Ensuring industrial relations policies enhance people engagement and comply with legislative and regulatory frameworks, leading diversity and inclusion initiatives, and developing and implementing cultural change programs are also crucial aspects of the role.

The role includes providing a business partnership model that supports line management in delivering people and culture, people management, and OHS functions.

About You The ideal candidate for the Executive Director People and Culture role at Monash Health is a highly experienced leader with direct experience in embedding and leading People and Culture strategies in a large and diverse service-oriented business.

Core requirements of the position include: Demonstrated high-level strategic and business planning skills.
Proven track record of innovation and removing organisational barriers.
Experience in developing key strategic relationships and actively collaborating with industry and government.
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and political acumen in business and management issues.
High-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and lobby.

Adept at developing robust talent management strategies to ensure the workforce has the appropriate capabilities and is developed to meet business goals.

Experience in overseeing Health and Safety, Work Cover, and Return to Work strategies and programs.

Expertise in managing the Occupational Health and Safety policy, procedure, education, and reporting framework in line with industrial instruments and legislative requirements.

Experience in developing and implementing governance structures and risk management strategies.
Proven capability in leading diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
Strong financial management skills to ensure budgetary targets and key performance indicators are achieved.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
