IMPORT OPERATOR - BRISBANE

They focus on providing each client with tailored solutions to meet their needs. A long-trusted mainstay of the freight industry, dedicated to simplifying and streamlining the supply chain, they take pride in finding efficiencies that translate to time and cost savings for their clients

**Your new role

  • Import Operator*
  • Process documents efficiently and promptly to ensure they are correct and have been entered into the operations system.
  • Liaise with Customs Agents, clients, various transport bodies, and Australian Customs as and when required.
  • Responsible for processing import and export documentation.
  • Responsible for booking cargo with shipping lines and consolidators.
  • To inspect all dangerous goods documentation and cargo, where applicable.
  • Take responsibility for documenting Document Change Requests.
  • Take responsibility for inspecting all freight received or dispatched to the consignee or shipper.
  • Take responsibility for completing a Skills Inventory and for ensuring all training received is recorded.
  • To ensure a smooth and efficient running of the import department.
  • Prepare arrival notices.
  • Pay all charges and check ultimate consignees.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Import Operator experience
  • Ability to resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills including ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Team oriented, have an eye for detail, willing to learn and see work through to completion.
  • Hard working attitude
