Date of posting:Jan 31, 2024- We are currently seeking a dynamic and resourceful professional to join our team in Schramm Australia in the role of Operations Manager.

This role is fundamental for supporting Schramm Australia's further development and growth in the market.- Your primary objectives will be to maintain broad oversight over Schramm Operations, anticipating and directing timely and effective responses to issues, ensuring that overall Operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all required regulations

Main responsibilities:

  • Build a worldclass SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) culture, that meets and exceeds all KPI targets, in all that we do.
  • Play a key role in the establishment and successful execution of major business strategies.
  • Oversee the PC performance relative to timely delivery, product quality, responsiveness to customer requirements, and initiate remedial measures, as appropriate.
  • Direct continuous review and control of all functional areas within Operations and the development and introduction of alternative approaches for providing quality products at low cost. Functional areas include Assembly, Machining and Fabrication, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, Sourcing and Materials Management.
  • Ensure departmental goals are in line with company yearly Objectives.
  • Define breakthrough initiatives and execute 'BHAGs (big hairy audacious goals) that underpin the successful achievement of Schramm and SRD strategic objectives
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to secure and sustain API/ISO certification
  • Responsible for ensuring that all products are produced according to the master production schedule within the budget of hours and related costs and the required quality.
  • Direct complex technical analyses and investigations, review proposals and make decisions that have major impact on successful Company performance.

  • Ensure manufacturing methodology enhances turnaround time, productivity, scheduling of predictable and unpredictable work orders, and labor utilization to include multishift operations, as appropriate.
  • Ensure all proper succession planning, performance management, employee relations and professional/technical training protocols, including coaching and mentoring, are in place within each functional area.
  • Develop systems that create safe, reliable and dependable, quality conscious, and accountable staff members.
  • Assume complete accountability for producing all orders at established cost and quality levels.
  • Deploy the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process, aligning crossfunctionally with Marketing and Sales, and Engineering to ensure production resources and output meet Customer needs, also optimising working capital.

Experience and requirements:

  • A degree in Engineering, Business Administration or other related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a progressive manufacturing environment; steel fabrication, Flowline rig assembly, and repetition machining preferred, with a minimum of 5 years experience in Supply chain and logistics, and a minimum of 3 years in a midlevel management position. Proven experience in make vs. buy decision making and driving Lean implementation to operational excellence. Lean Certification is preferred.
