About the role
The
_Chief Financial Officer (CFO) _is responsible for leading and building a capable team of trusted financial business partners who are responsible for managing financial planning, partnering and financial risks for the organisation.
The CFO will report directly to the Executive Director -Finance & Information and assist with all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, management of rates, revenues and funding.
As a key member of the Finance & Information team, you will be responsible for financial oversight of all key areas including financial policies, procedures and systems and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

approach and behaviours, you will grow and develop a team of professionals that are true business partners.Specifically, you will;- Deliver the preparation and presentation of Council's Operational Budget, Quarterly Business Review, and analysis of financial and nonfinancial data.
- Ensure that there is alignment with Council's strategic direction and it's operational and longterm financial plans.
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation and achievement of strategic financial objectives and associated business activities and processes.
- Present financial results to the CEO, Leadership Team, ARIC and Finance Committee.
- Direct and oversee the management of all aspects of financial management for the organisation, including financial accounting, treasury, payables, financial performance, rates & receivables.
- Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors so that all audit issues are resolved, and compliance issues are met.
- Ensure that the preparation of all reports including the annual statements meet statutory requirements and schedules.
- Guide the management of Council's funding including debt financing, cash balances, cash forecasts and investment funds.
- Provide leadership and advice to the Council on emerging issues and opportunities to ensure a proactive approach is taken to achieving best practise.

We are offering an attractive Grade 21 base salary ranging between $196,899 and $218,384 (plus super).
