About the Practice

Platypus Dental is a boutique dental practice situated in a medical specialist centre in the heart of Strathpine QLD 4500.

There are currently 2 dental chairs, with a prospective 3rd dental chairs installed in the future.


The practice aims to use Australian made products wherever possible, and are proud to be in collaboration with local labs and SDI Limited for restorative materials.

The practice does all general dentistry except for orthodontics (as we have an orthodontist just next door to us). A radiologist is also on-site, where we send our patient to for 3-D Xrays for implant planning. The practice is focused in oral surgery and full mouth rehabilitation, with dental implant procedures done regularly.

About You

You will be working along side with our group of dentists and the practice manager to provide a high standard of patient care both in and outside of the surgery room.

Additional spoken languages on top of English will be favourable.

The position is a casual position, with
hourly rate at $30+/hr after casual loading.

Main work:

  • Chair-side Assisting
  • Sterilization and Cleaning of All Instruments, Equipment and the surgery
  • Reception work when required (appointment booking & phone calls)
  • Material ordering if needed.

The following qualifications and traits is required:

  • Certificate III
  • Previous Experience as Dental Assisting
  • High EQ and Communication Skills
  • Having Fun.

From $30.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Strathpine Q, LD 4500: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Dental assistance: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting (preferred)

  • Australia (required)
