Job Description: As a Mainframe Developer at [Company Name], you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications that are integral to business operations. You will work closely with our team to ensure the smooth functioning of mainframe systems, with a focus on COBOL, PL/I, and JCL programming languages.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, and JCL.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform unit testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and efficiency of mainframe applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe systems and applications.
  • Ensure compliance with banking and financial industry regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with database management systems such as IMS and DB2.
  • Keep abreast of latest technologies and industry trends to enhance mainframe development practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, PL/I, and JCL programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, including IMS and DB2.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies is a plus.
