We provide programs relating to ageing and disability, health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.

About the Role:

***Case Workers are responsible for ensuring that collaborative, high quality, client focused case-management services are provided to people who are homeless or in housing need. This role is responsible for providing support, information and practical assistance on a range of issues to people who are homeless or in housing need that will facilitate their transition to independent living (or access appropriate supported accommodation). All services are provided within an integrated and collaborative framework with relevant stakeholders and services in the community.

The successful applicant will possess demonstrable competency, knowledge, understanding and/or skills in the following areas:

  • knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues relating to homelessness such as: poverty, unemployment, health, family violence, substance use and other social factors which impact on vulnerable or at risk people;
- an understanding of Tasmania's current housing market and the difficulties facing low income people trying to secure housing;
- a high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively engage with people seeking assistance though external stakeholders including real estate agents and landlords;
- high level initiative, problem solving and resilience skills including the ability to maintain a positive outlook, see the 'bigger picture', identify opportunities and implement solutions;

  • Relevant degree level qualification (social work, psychology) or essentially required accreditation from a recognised institution.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months);
- provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16;
- provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical:

  • provide evidence of your COVID-19 Digital Certificates (including booster) or a vaccination exemption;
- provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.

On commencement the successful applicant will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
