Description:About the Role

The Youth Specialist position involves providing customized case management services to young individuals facing challenges such as disconnection from family or community, lack of engagement in education or employment, homelessness, or exposure to risks. Youth Specialists engage effectively with young people and their support systems, focusing on identifying needs, aspirations, and developing and implementing individualized plans with oversight responsibilities.

Duties
  • Provide tailored supports and interventions based on the program's care model.
  • Deliver high-quality and intentional interactions with clients aligned with ATSICHS values.
  • Ensure meticulous case management and record-keeping that meets operational standards.
  • Engage clients proactively through assertive outreach strategies.
  • Facilitate client-led assessments and Care Plans to establish and work towards goals.
  • Offer targeted interventions and family group meetings to support clients in achieving their objectives.

  • Commencement salary of $90,500 annually + 11% Super + Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging to increase take-home pay.

Skills and Experiences:COVID-19 Requirements
  • Documentation of up-to-date COVID vaccinations.
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention, or Criminology with at least 4 years of relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support, or a related field.
OR
  • Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, or Child and Family Intervention with a minimum of 5 years' experience in relevant areas.
ANDMinimum 3 years of case management experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a performance-driven environment and meet set targets.
  • Capacity to empower clients and drive change while discouraging dependence on support.
  • Expertise in behavior change interventions to enhance client self-awareness and progress.
  • Experience in coordinating services to deliver holistic care and meet family needs.
  • Knowledge of factors contributing to client vulnerability and trauma.
  • Proficiency in managing high-risk clients with strong planning skills.
  • Familiarity with mental health, substance abuse, education, employment, and housing support resources.
Additional Requirement
  • Availability for travel within the Logan and/or Brisbane region based on program demands.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours to meet client needs.
  • Blue Card or eligibility to apply for one.
