ABOUT THE ROLE
Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) provides supported employment opportunities for people with a disability living in the community.

Our ADE program offers paid employment opportunities in our op shop and our grounds maintenance crew and provides an ideal stepping stone for those individuals who wish to return to the open work force or enter the open employment market for the first time.

If you are looking for a great job with tons of variety, and the ability to contribute to the community, this could be the ideal role.

Supporting our employment businesses which provide employment for people with a disability, we need someone who can help with our Op Shop furniture deliveries, or supervise our Grounds Maintenance Crew and generally be flexible across several roles.

Hours 25-35 hours per week, depending on availability, skill level and business needs.

Desired Skills and Experience

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We require someone who is fit for physical work, has great customer service and a sense of humour to supervise work for both the Op Shop and the Grounds Maintenance team.

Previous experience in these areas is preferred, along with a reasonable level of computer literacy and willingness to mentor people with a disability.

Key to this position is an ability to communicate supportively to bring out the best in supported employees, increasing their work skills and confidence.

This is a fun and varied position for the right person.

Criteria:

  • Ability to load, unload and drive a small truck, (Car licence only) delivering furniture and collecting donations.
  • Tow and reverse a trailer
  • Experience in basic garden maintenance and associated tools ( Chainsaw certificate desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with Microsoft office and other computer programs, with ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience in mentoring people with a disability
  • Professional communication skills
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • White Card
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Satisfactory Criminal record check.
  • NDIS Worker Screening
  • Evidence of vaccination for COVID 19
