Australian Criminal Intelligence CommissionACIC is seeking a highly motivated, outcomes-driven senior executive to fill the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Our ideal candidate will be innovative, consultative, resilient and personally accountable for the quality of advice and the delivery of results.

Reporting to the CEO, the COO is responsible for leading and managing the ACIC's corporate support services and overseeing the organisation's daily administration and business operations.

COO responsibilities cover the breadth of the agency's corporate and enabling functions, spanning the Corporate and Enabling Services, Business and Partnerships, and Information and Intelligence Services Divisions.

The COO has responsibility for the ACIC's commercial function, the National Police Checking Service, which derives revenue in excess of $100 million annually, which is attributed to the National Policing Systems and Services Special Account.

Further, management of the National Policing Information Systems also falls within COO remit.

The COO coordinates closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO Intelligence and Executive Directors to chart future growth and ensure the delivery of competing requirements in a highly dynamic strategic operating environment, during a time of increasing demand for our services and advice.

The COO will play a central role in leading the agency through a significant period of reform in a fluid and rapidly evolving operating environment.


The COO will be required to:
Lead engagement and strategy to drive capability uplift and organisational transformation.
Ensure the agency is supported to deliver on its core functions and activities.
Optimise the National Police Checking Service function, the ACIC's commercial operation.
Deliver a sustainable agency, including through leveraging cross-government opportunities to maximise capability.
Develop the effectiveness of our people, processes and systems.
Exemplify the ACIC's values, and foster a culture of integrity and accountability.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following core capabilities and attributes:
A strong record of accomplishment in delivering innovative and transformative change.

Experience leading and overseeing highly critical stakeholder engagement, including the need to engage, inform and advise a diverse range of senior stakeholders in relation to complex, high-profile, high-risk, and sensitive issues.

Influential strategic leadership, financial acumen, sound judgement and a record of delivery to support achievement of the ACIC's objectives.
Oversee and manage key operational and corporate elements of the ACIC; including sensitive and complex service delivery matters.
Demonstrated ability to engage with risk and mitigate to agreed tolerances.

Ability to lead and promote a culture of innovation and adaptability, considering leading edge technology, best practice approaches and strategic service delivery outcomes.

Experience in enterprise-level strategic planning, budget, workforce, learning and development, physical and technology infrastructure, security and integrity.
Citizenship

– To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance
