ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on 9 day fortnight roster DIDO to our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes – bus available from Bunbury location only) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the Senior Research Scientist, you will be responsible for the application of professional process chemistry knowledge, principles and methodologies to; Understand and innovate process improvements to overcome tactical and strategic challenges at Worsley. Lead innovation projects and support concept studies and major project developments. Project manage implementation including the development of new technology options as required.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Supervision and project leadership.

• Data extraction and analysis.

• Process modelling to evaluate new scenarios.

• Identification and engagement of specialist consultants as required.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Experience in extracting and analysing complex data.

• Project management skills – working and managing service providers.

• Proven ability to solve problems and deal with ambiguity.

• Supervision experience

Qualifications for this position are:

• Relevant technical qualification (eg. Chemistry, Chemical or other Engineering) or appropriate experience.

• Min 10 years' experience in Bayer environment or a similar hydrometallurgical processing industry.
