Ventia's contract with the Department of Justice are seeking an engaging and supportive
Logistics & Resource Group Manager to join the Control Centre Team based in Canning Vale, Western Australia.


Reporting directly into the Deputy Director you will work collaboratively to assist in the delivery across several functions including Escorting, Fleet & Depot Maintenance, Hospital Sit Group, Pool Staff & 24/7 Operational Control Room for the Perth Metropolitan area.


We are looking for a unique person who can deliver this solution in the most efficient and effective manner working as part of the senior management team for the Court Security and Custodial Services contract.


About you


You are professional and personable being able to remain impartial, unbiased and balanced when making critical judgement in fast-moving and often testing operational environments.

You are inspiring and persuasive and able to influence others and drive and embed best practise service delivery through gaining the commitment of our people, whilst ensuring project outcomes are met in a cost-effective manner and compliant with legislative requirements.


You can implement and promote continuous improvement strategies in day-to-day operations and take responsibility for correcting problems with appropriate buy-in and stakeholder satisfaction.

You have a high degree of motivation, energy and initiative, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.

This, coupled with your great sense of humour will contribute to your success in this role.

Key duties but not limited to:

  • Plan and deliver the strategic objectives for the specified business functions, which are to be aligned to the wider contract / business model
  • Provide monthly reports against the strategic objectives ensuring focus is on service delivery whilst always maintaining staff and PiC safety
  • Represent Ventia in key stakeholder meetings
  • Meet with key internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis, to ensure that our service delivery and strategic objectives are appropriately aligned to our customers' needs
  • Oversee all operational deliverables and needs for all specified business units
  • Continually identify industry trends and developments, incorporating new or better techniques or technologies into operational areas, and ensure that this knowledge is shared with others
  • Set clear direction and objectives for direct reports
  • Manage assigned budgets
  • Engage with the staff group on a regular basis and ensure we operate a safe work environment
  • Deliver leadership and guidance to direct reports, general staff group and peers
  • Assist in developing business objectives, polices & procedures
  • Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying and harassment
  • Deliver a high standard of service delivery whilst constantly maintaining staff and PiC welfare and safety

Skills and experience:

  • Diploma in Leadership and/or relevant experience
  • Proven experience operating in a resourcing role or demonstrated experience in an escort custody operational environment
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and associated requirements
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement opportunities; Risk, Health, Safety, Quality and Environment
  • A collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships
  • Personable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased and balanced in challenging environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office suite and databases) and ability to navigate reporting tools and Government based systems and interpret large sets of data

The incumbent to this position must have Australian Work Rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Police Check, Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for this position.
