The Specialist Family Violence Counsellor delivers the FVREE counselling program, using evidence informed interventions, in line with professional best practice standards, reflective of FVREEs ethos and strategic plan.
This encompasses provision of inclusive and respectful services to victim survivors from all backgrounds, includingboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients; Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients (CALD); Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and/or Intersex, Queer (LGBTIQ) clients; clients living with a range of abilities and older clients.
We are looking for someone who- ..
- Has tertiary qualifications in Counselling or Psychology and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional body.
- Has demonstrated experience and skills in counselling delivery, including the ability to provide inclusive services to diverse communities: Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander, CALD, LGBTIAQ+, older persons, and people with a disability.
- Can deliver high quality counselling services using a range of therapeutic approaches
- Works autonomously and is a team player
- Has knowledge and experience in safety planning, managing a caseload and client advocacy
- Can speak to their understanding of relevant theories and practice frameworks that relate to family violence, including intersectional feminism, traumainformed practice and strengthsbased practice.
