About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to play a key role in one of the most significant transformations in Australian higher education in the past three decades and contribute to shaping the future of Adelaide University. The role will be based in the Curriculum Domain within the Integration Management Office (IMO). The aim of the Domain is to create a cutting-edge, all-encompassing curriculum for Adelaide University through extensive collaboration, supported by advanced digital learning management and delivery capabilities. This will facilitate an improved, seamless, and adaptable learning experience for students across all modes of learning.

The Senior Project Manager (Learning Management System and Learning Ecosystem) will oversee the business implementation of the Learning Management System and wider learning technology ecosystem at Adelaide University. The successful candidate will collaborate with an existing project team to manage project timelines, risks, and dependencies. Working closely with various leads within the project and IT teams, the candidate will ensure a smooth coordination of efforts towards the project's success. Additionally, the individual will be part of the broader Learning and Teaching Technology leadership team and must have prior experience in managing learning technology/LMS implementation projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and effective management for program deliverables
  • Take a leading role in project management governance structures and forums supporting program activities
  • Implement a shared IMO project management approach using designated systems, templates, reports, and document storage
  • Supervise, manage, and coordinate IMO staff as needed to support program activities
  • Facilitate the onboarding, support, and empowerment of subject matter experts contributing to program activities

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Hold postgraduate qualifications (preferably in project management, education, or learning technology) and/or possess extensive relevant experience
  • Demonstrated track record in leading and executing complex learning technology projects involving diverse stakeholders, multiple concurrent tasks, tight deadlines, and shifting priorities, preferably within a Higher Education setting
  • Show a strong dedication to addressing strategic business needs, capable of identifying problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the capacity to influence managers and staff with diplomacy
