The Role Our software engineering teams have built some of Australia's most popular websites and apps, with millions of unique visitors each year to our digital platforms.

As the Senior Project Manager for Software Engineering you will lead and oversee complex software development projects from inception to completion.

You will be a strategic thinker with extensive experience in project management, software development, and team leadership.

You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives.

Your role responsibilities will include; Project Planning and Management

Initiate Projects:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

Develop Project Plans:
Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

Budget Management:
Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring projects remain financially viable.

Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

Quality Assurance:
Establish quality standards and ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership and Collaboration

Lead Project Teams:
Direct and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Ensure that sprint goals and product goals are understood by everyone within the squad.

Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.

  • Ensure squad events including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective are well facilitated and productive.

Support the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the squad when facilitating a healthy squad dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.


Conflict Resolution:
Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise within the project team or with stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Track Progress:
Monitor project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely completion.

Performance Metrics:
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project success.

Reporting:
Generate comprehensive reports for senior management, highlighting project status, risks, and accomplishments.

Process Improvement:
Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Your Experience Tertiary Qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a relevant field, combined with Project Management Professional (PRINCE2, PMI-ACP), Scrum Master (RSM, CSM, A-CSM, CSP-SM) or relevant project management certifications.

You will have proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in a software engineering environment.
You will have in-depth knowledge of software development life-cycles and modern practices.
You will have proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor and guide teams to achieve project goals.

You will have a highly organised mindset, with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders whilst working closely with our established IT Team.
