Who We Are:

About the Role:
- The Head of Digital Preservation will lead the digital preservation strategy and oversee the teams responsible for its implementation.
- This role plays a crucial part in NFSA's digital transformation journey and in sharing the national story through various activities.
- The ideal candidate will contribute to NFSA's leadership in digital preservation practices.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and support two functional teams to ensure quality outcomes.
- Mentor teams in complex problem solving and maintain excellent service to stakeholders.
- Manage initiatives supporting collection metadata and digital media management.
- Develop and deliver a progressive digital preservation strategy aligned with the organization's goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation across NFSA for continuous improvement.
- Ensure digital preservation initiatives are integrated into the strategic planning process.
- Manage the Digital Preservation cost center and participate in relevant NFSA working groups.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of key performance data.

Requirements:
- Extensive experience in digital archiving.
- Proven track record in operational delivery.
- Strong communication skills across various mediums.
- People management skills to achieve desired outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Interest in technology and audiovisual culture.

Desired Skills:
- Previous experience managing small teams and fostering high performance.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Expertise in Digital Preservation, DAMS/MAMS Management, AV Codecs, and Preservation Workflows.

Assessment Process:
- Written application addressing selection criteria (1000 words).
- Resume of no more than 3 pages.
- Interview with a task.
- Referee checking.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Australian Citizenship.
- Successful completion of an Australian Federal Police National Police Check.
