About the Role:


We are currently seeking Approvals professionals to join our growing Land Access and Approvals team to support the WAIO approvals team.


Reporting to the Superintendent, these roles require you to assist in the management of the approvals portfolio and provide coordination of external approvals requirements for both brownfields and greenfield mining and infrastructure projects.


Key accountabilities for the role include:

  • Support asset/major projects and operations to identify Approvals pathways (including optionality there within), in line with business priorities and timeframes.
  • Preparation of Approvals Strategies and schedules to allow for analysis of preferred option
  • Approvals coordination across different functional areas such as Heritage, Tenure, Environment & Closure.
  • Liaising closely with relevant stakeholders, to ensure external approval requirements are well understood and conveyed to the broader business.
  • Participating in project reviews, and providing advice to the business with regard to the impact of approvals issues and the impact these risks may have on the timing of project delivery.
  • Drive business improvement initiatives to support delivery of strategic regulatory approvals.

You need to be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.

In addition, we are looking for the following specific skills and experience:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in state agreement, environmental, heritage and regulatory approvals and the interdependencies between them.
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate inputs from various Functions across the Business.
  • Ability to analyse Approval Strategies and identify optionality in Approval Pathways.
